I practiced, and here are two clips to prove it!

Full 2nd, no 3rd, one illegal 4th series pose. No tick tocks. I did film two sets of drop backs too. I'm absolutely amazed at how much my feet are still swiveling out on the drop when it feels like they're barely moving... How distressing! I'm not going to post those anywhere.

My upper back is hardly bending. Still, I can bend pretty effectively when I'm getting assisted or if I'm doing a pose that allows some leverage (cheating): Ganda B or the Viparita Dandasanas.

I've been in all day since Starbucks, being a yoga loser: procrastinating, obsessing. I got myself to the mat by making an internal bargain not to work that hard (do tick tocks). I'm going to get to the park to read outside for a little bit while I wait for Neene to land in the East Village. We are going to stuff ourselves with healthy, vegetarian food.

Kapotasana: This is the 2nd one. I only filmed it to check my progress. If I could just open my upper back a bit more I might eventually be able to grab a heel at a time from the air.

I'm not going to post the Pinca Mayurasana / Karandavasana clip here, but it's on youtube for anyone interested.

Here's my illegal 4th series pose, tacked onto the end of 2nd after the seven headstands - Sayanasana practice! Not bad for not having attempted it since may. This one's going to need some extra work, outside of Astanga, in order to learn the balance. It can be done, though.

Love the Sayanasana vid (Niccccceeee Kapo too, you use a timer for that too?), Great idea to give yourself to the end of a song to work on it. This is such a cool asana always wanted to try it and of course i couldn't resist, lasted about 1/10 of a second but great fun, why the hell do they have to bury it away in fourth.

I don't always use a timer, but when I practice at home I work on trying to stay in Kapotasana longer, and/or I do it twice. It was the only pose I repeated today, but for the Sayanasana, which I'm obviously just learning :)

I learned how to do a Pinca M and hold it for a minute a full year before I started 2nd. Was a personal project. Back then I'd set a timer for 3-5m and just keep going up & over or coming back down. Eventually I got it, and then I worked on getting it really solid. I'm gonna use the same strategy on this Sayenasana.

Practicing it a couple times in 4th after doing full 3rd first is NOT going to be what makes me get it!

This is why I'm gonna need to buy a 3rd manduka. One will live in Chris's shala, one in John's and I still need one at home, for when I work on stuff on my own.

That sayenasana is almost there. Loved the "you know it don't come easy" music to go with it.

It's appropriate right? :)

I wanted to show what my working process is like... I get as close as I can, over & over & over & over etc.
